Video surveillance in Marrakech:
AI-augmented cameras and real-time remote monitoring

4YA · Marrakech · Updated 2026

In Marrakech, most businesses already have cameras. The problem is rarely the number of cameras: it is that nobody watches them in real time. The footage is only used after the fact, once an incident has been noticed.

4YA is an engineering company based in Marrakech. Our V32 module plugs into your existing setup and analyses the streams continuously: after-hours intrusion, perimeter breach, abnormal behaviour, expected-but-missing presence. You are alerted on WhatsApp as the event happens — not the next day.

Classic CCTV vs AI video surveillance: the real difference

A classic CCTV setup records. AI-augmented surveillance understands what it sees. That is the difference between evidence after an incident and an alert before the damage is done.

The system first learns what is "normal" on your site: opening hours, usual traffic patterns, busy zones. It then only triggers on deviations. That is what avoids the constant noise that makes teams ignore alerts.

Remote monitoring: an alternative to night security guards

Many companies in Marrakech pay for a night-time human presence to watch a site that is already covered by cameras. Intelligent remote monitoring covers every stream, continuously, without fatigue and without blind spots — reserving human intervention for the cases that genuinely warrant it.

Sectors concerned in Marrakech

Hospitality, riads and residences — service entrances, technical areas, car parks, night perimeters. Detection adapts to activity that never fully stops.

Shops and retail — sales floor, stockrooms, till areas. Combined with SecurePOS, each transaction can be linked to its video sequence.

Warehouses, workshops and sites — equipment theft, unauthorised access, safety-zone compliance, out-of-hours activity.

Restaurants and cafés — preparation areas, till, deliveries, supplier access.

Compatible with your current cameras

There is no need to replace your hardware. V32 connects to your existing NVR or DVR through RTSP/ONVIF streams and supports 11+ brands of cameras and recorders, including Hikvision, Dahua, Axis and Hanwha. No rewiring, no camera replacement.

Processing happens at the edge, on a unit installed at your site in Marrakech. This is what enables detection in under 10 milliseconds and a go-live typically under 24 hours.

Your footage stays in Morocco — law 09-08 and CNDP

Video surveillance processes personal data. Sending streams to a foreign cloud moves the compliance question outside the country. At 4YA, analysis is local: the footage does not leave your site, therefore it does not leave Morocco. Compliance with law 09-08 and CNDP requirements follows from the architecture, not from a contractual clause.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to change my cameras?

No. V32 plugs into the existing NVR or DVR through RTSP/ONVIF, with 11+ brand compatibility. No rewiring is required.

How long does deployment take in Marrakech?

Typically under 24 hours when cameras are already installed, since there is neither cabling nor hardware replacement.

How am I alerted?

By WhatsApp, SMS, email or webhook into your internal tools. The alert includes the relevant sequence, so there is no need to search through hours of recording.

What does it cost?

The budget depends on the number of streams and sites. As a reference point, a deployment sits in the same order of magnitude as a part-time security guard. We issue a quote after a free assessment of your setup.

Constraints specific to Marrakech

Old buildings and medina. Riads, thick walls, courtyards and narrow lanes: cabling is often partial and viewing angles constrained. These are exactly the sites where edge processing pays off — it avoids running new network cable to a distant technical room.

Activity that never stops. A hospitality venue runs 24 hours: late arrivals, night staff, early deliveries. Binary motion detection is unusable there. The system must learn what is normal at 3 a.m. in a service courtyard — and react only to deviation.

Seasonality. A venue's rhythm changes sharply between high and low season. A model tuned in August will produce noise in January unless readjusted. That readjustment is part of follow-up, not billed as a new installation.

Night vision and low light

Most incidents happen as light drops, and that is where most installations lose their usefulness. Two points matter before any processing: does the camera have a genuinely working infrared mode, and is auxiliary lighting aimed without creating direct glare into the lens.

AI analysis improves reading of a degraded image, but it does not create missing information. If the sensor sees nothing, no model compensates — we prefer saying so before rather than after installation.

What we check before proposing anything

The recorder model and condition, the real stream resolution — often lower than advertised — internal network stability, existing viewing angles, and the intended use: deterrence, live alerting, or evidence gathering. These three uses require neither the same cameras nor the same configuration.
